Silverhill, Nottinghamshire - January 2010
At 205 metres Silverhill is the highest point in Nottinghamshire. The bronze statue on the summit represents the areas mining heritage, and also has a plaque listing all of the county's coal mines. Silverhill is a former colliery and the current hill is actually a reclaimed spoil heap. The view from the summit includes Hardwick Hall, the Derbyshire hills (with some snow in the photo), and the Trent Valley powerstations.
